形態特徵

• Perennial herb up to 0.3-0.4 m; stems solitary, erect to ascending, usually unbranched, terete, eglandular.
• Leaves sessile; lamina ca. 3.5 cm long, 0.8-1 cm broad, elongate-ovate, apex obtuse, base cordate-amplexicaul, chartaceous, paler beneath, with dense intramarginal dark glands and ± numerous small dark laminar glandular dots.
• Inflorescence many-flowered, corymbose, often with axillary flowering branches; flowers ca. 15 mm in diam., in bud narrowly ellipsoid; sepals 2.5 mm long, ovate-lanceolate, obtuse to acute, entire, with intramarginal and laminar dark glandular dots; petals 7 mm long, 2.5 mm broad, obovate-oblong, yellow, with laminar dark glands in distal half; stamen fascicles 3, persistent, each with an average of 8-10 stamens; anthers with black gland; ovary 3 mm long, ovoid-cylindric, the 3 styles as long as ovary, free, spreading from base.
• Capsule 10 mm long, 4 mm broad, ovoid-cylindric, with longitudinal vittae; seeds ca. 0.7 mm long, finely reticulate, not carinate, without terminal appendage.
• The above record is apparently the only one of <i>H. erectum</i> from Taiwan. From Hayata's description the specimen seems to belong to a form of this species other than the one that occurs in the Ryukyu Is. (var. <i>erectum</i> forma <i>lutchuense</i> (Koidz.) Y. Kimura). Kimura includes it in the otherwise only Japanese var. <i>erectum</i> forma <i>angustifolium</i> (Y. Kimura) Y. Kimura, and so it may have been a casual introduction into Taiwan. The description given above applies only to the Taiwan material and does not include the total variation within <i>H. erectum</i>.

• 世界 : Russia (Sakhalin), Japan, the Ryukyus, Korea, mainland China (eastern parts from Jiangsu to Guangdong).
